OK -- IF YOU HAVE A DREAMWIDTH ACCOUNT AND DON'T WANT ANOTHER INVITE, PLS. DON"T COMMENT.

Sheesh! *pant pant*

OK, in the film Batman Returns, Christopher Walken plays an evil industrialist. Name the silent film that features a character with the same name as Walken's character.

In case anybody was curious...

(sorry, the previous winner already had a code)

Actor Dean Stockwell played the son of a very famous movie couple. Which couple?

Again, no IMDB cheatin'

Huh?
Yes, yes, just dump water in...I know.

Except that we currently have some renters, in the form of a pair of nesting pigeons and two babies (about 2 weeks old, Himself guesstimates). Obviously, dumping water in the top won't do because of the baby birdies.

Can we mist the 'rabbit foot' roots?

I'm not expecting the babies to be ready to fly the coop for at least another few weeks, and the fern is suffering from lack of attention already.

1. FOR LOCALS: [info]dirtnap13, who organizes Bats Day and Fright Night for the local LA Goffy crowd, his dad has gone missing. [info]msfiend has details up in [info]los_angeles. If you can either help with the search or pass around flyers, I'm sure it would be much appreciated. And do keep good thoughts comin'! Finally, even if you aren't local, a signal boost would be swell.

2. FOR KITTY LOVERS: [info]bronxelf_ag001 has earned the title Friend to Kitties. She's helped organize at least one effort to get a cat cross-country out of a neglectful situation and donated one of her awesome hand-made egg art pieces to help [info]onceupon and [info]mightywombat with vet bills for their kitty. If you can, please do donate a bit. Sometimes Friends to Kitties need a bit of help, yanno. Signal boost for this as well.

3. FOR EVERYONE: [info]gvdub, singer, guitarist, friend and all-around nifty guy, he's celebrating getting in shape by doing a charity bike ride for multiple sclerosis this October. Having seen first-hand what MS can do -- our friend SheriBaby, who just had the horrid care accident has MS -- anything that funds research is a Good Thing. I have to wait until my new credit card arrives, but you don't. Yep, signal boost the third, please. Why yes, [info]faireraven, I'm hoping you can help spread this among your MS Walk contacts. :>

Up to the first person to answer the following question (no IMDB cheatin'!):

Only one Alfred Hitchcock film has won an Oscar. For what film and in which category?

Also, [info]leiliaxf, you got your invite e-mail back at the beginning of May but never responded. Just a heads up

Credit card number pinched.

Again. Just like right before my birthday three years ago.

I can at least take a bit of comfort that I had paid for MeBritMum's birfumday goodies (her natal day is the day after mine) *BEFORE* the card got yoinked.

Joy and happiness abound. Except, y'know, not so much.

Just how bad is that gonna blow.

Yep. 'bout that bad.

Sorry, I washed my hands of those MarySuePorn trashies several books back.

The one advantage they have over Twilight is that at least the main character, you know. gets it on.

I doctrinally do NOT like IUDs. Six years at the OBGYN specialty journal sealed their fate for me. Yes, including seeing the first photos of the damage done by the Dalkon Shield.

That being said...

Oh. HELL. No!

"Tee hee. Oopsie! Here, let me now lecture you on why you are Bad and Wrong."

Sue her ass and yank her license. No mercy.

You a fan who was there?

Then show your respects by paying up.

[EDIT: Here's the link to do so]

Really, that's all I'm gonna say. Anything more, and I am gonna devolve into phrases like "worshiping false idols."

That is all.

Just got back from sitting in on my first ever tribal improv class.

Wow...my brain in BUZZING!

I can see some ways in which I will likely get more out of this than the current folkloric classes, and other ways where it will be more challenging.

TribalTeacher got back to me and invited me to stick my head in the beginner class to observe tonight. I'm quite curious to see how this differs from HennaTeacher's classes.

Plus, I can say hi to my friend D in passing, as her advanced class ends just before the beginning one I'm coming to observe.

When I am glad to come home to an intact house, given the level of OmfgIllegalHomebrewFireworks they were setting off?

OTOH, they may still have some leftovers.

I found some local tribal imrpov bellydance classes and -- pending a return e-mail from the teacher -- I may start those up. I found out a friend of mine dances with the instructor's troupe.

I think the improv style will not make me feel like such a SlowBus about learning choreography, since my current teacher, HennaWoman, is all about the choreography. Will try to keep with her classes as well on weekends.

Halloween 05
Busy weekend, y'all!

Friday morning was a trip to the eye doc to confirm that yay...eye infection wot requires drops *eight times a day*. Go me.

Then lunch with Himself's older stepsister, with whom he'd only reconnected right before DadInLaw died.

Saturday consisted of two parties. One at BrokenHaus with [info]brokenheather, [info]the_angelus, [info]darkviolet9, several other Very Nice Goffy Folk and an amazing seven-toed kitty. Yes, the next step in Kitty Evolution. Himself ended up -- as he somehow invariably always does -- playing Grillmaster. I think it's the whole rocket thing.

We had to leave somewhat early to get from their place in Highland Park (just north of downtown LA) all the way down to the next party at DaftHouse, which sits on top of this really high hill, so you can see about six to seven firework shows from their back deck. We got their just in time for the shows. Hung around for a bit afterward before headed home.

Today, after a brief 9 am contemplation of hauling ass out of bed for bellydance class, I decided instead to join Himself in taking [info]violet_tigress1 out for lunch, as she was down visiting from parts Northwestward.

This evening's festivities will consist of laundry, making lunches for the week, and putting the new SIM cards into the 'puter. Fun times.
